Gabby's Classroom

While living abroad in Turkey and later in Thailand this year (2025), I had the incredible opportunity to develop the first official marketing strategy for Gabby’s Classroom, a holistic school based in Vancouver, Canada.

The school focuses on supporting young children, primarily from Asian backgrounds, who face the daunting challenge of leaving their home countries and adapting to a completely new culture, language, and environment. Traditional educational methods often (always 🥲)  fall short in addressing these challenges, leaving many children disengaged and lacking confidence in their private schools.

Gabby’s Classroom offers a nurturing second home, helping students regain their sense of empowerment, harmony, and confidence, while fostering a genuine love for learning.

Small steps, huge results

One of the biggest challenges—and also one of the most impactful results—of the strategy I created for Gabby was helping her overcome her fear of being on camera and actually speaking to her audience. This was a huge step, as parents naturally want to see the face and energy of the person they’re trusting with their children. It wasn’t easy, since Gabby had always preferred to keep her profile as private as possible, but at the end of the day, the business is Gabby’s Classroom. I encouraged her to showcase her "professional public side", trust the process, and enjoy it, because she truly knows her craft.

AFTER A LOT OF SESSIONS THAT FELT LIKE I WAS HER SPIRITUAL COACH (WHICH I ACTUALLY REALLY ENJOY), THIS WAS THE RESULT:

They say “don’t judge a book by its cover,” but when it comes to branding, visuals play a crucial role. For Gabby’s Classroom, a holistic school in Vancouver, the challenge was to create a clear, professional, and approachable brand identity without the resources of a full design team.

While I usually collaborate with a team of designers and Ads Supervisor when budgets allow, in this case, I took the creative lead after creating the strategy of the game. My goal was to design mindful and welcoming content that resonated with parents (more targeted to mums), content that felt cozy, empowering, and aligned with Gabby’s Classroom’s mission. I addressed several gaps:

In only 3 months we achieved:

Brand clarity: Defined what Gabby’s Classroom offers and how to communicate its values.
Content creation: Built a guide for inspiring photos and videos without a professional photographer or video editor, including solutions for parents who preferred not to show their children’s faces.
Website & social media:
Guided Gabby to declutter and streamline her website.
Cleaned and reorganized her Instagram, providing brand design and video inspiration, apart from templates that she could edit in the future, and clear storytelling strategies.
Created stronger lead messaging and improved engagement approaches.

Storytelling & visibility: Introduced authentic storytelling through Instagram Stories, which had previously been completely underused.
Growth strategy: Shared PR collaboration ideas and provided an introduction to Meta Ads—clarifying myths around the “boost” button for when she is ready to invest.
